Salary: £65,000-£70,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Central London

OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

  • To provide an integrated clinical leadership providing exceptional care to patients in the operating theatre environment.
  • To take responsibility for the operational management of staff and resources to ensure a safe environment.
  • To actively contribute to clinical practice and duties as required.
  • To maximise theatre utilisation, Consultant compliance and maintain clinical standards.
  • Provide strong leadership and direction to all staff across the service and act as a point of contact for advice and expertise relating to clinical issues.
  • Undertake and delegate the management and organisation of care provision within the operating theatre environment while coordinating the management of the clinical team.

ROLE

  • Act as a team member, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues to support a cohesive team and achievement of team objectives.
  • Demonstrate through a holistic approach to care and day to day clinical issues, an understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Liaise with Surgeons regarding procedures and requirements.
  • Assist/scrub with various types of surgical procedures.
  • Assist in pre and post operative care of the patient following the procedures.
  • Develop a skill mix that can be adopted in all areas of patient care including our patients.
  • Responsible for clinical stock control and ordering.
  • Liaison with outside suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Flexibility around business requirements.
  • Cover the out of hours on call phone according to the on-call rota.
  • Follow up care and advice are provided to patients.
  • Ensure patient safety is maintained as a key priority, and in line with CQC requirements.
  • Ensure high standard of professionalism and standards is maintained at all times.
